Experimental Data
Above is the experimental data of the change of fluorescence over time of our hydrogel designs. The different series indication the different amounts of cytidine residue that was added to that particular hydrogel. Series 1 contained no cytidine residue, Series 2 contained 5 mg of cytidine residue, Series 3 contained 7 mg of cytidine residue, and Series 4 contained 13 mg of cytidine residue. Based on these initial findings the team had come to the conclusion that 7 mg of cytidine is the optimal amount of residue to add to the hydrogel as it has the slowest most consistent release rate, even though there is a spike at the beginning of the trials.
